After almost two years of border closures, the Australian Government has decided to fully reopen its borders to all who want to enter the country. This includes all kinds of visas for students, work and holidays and now also tourists.
These new border rules will come into force on February 21, 2022. The conditions to enter the country are to have a record of double vaccination against Covid-19 or an official exemption to this vaccine and an approved visa.
Australia has been closed to the rest of the world since March 2020. Since then they have maintained a rigorous policy and only through exceptions could non-Australian citizens access the country. That is why this news has been received with great optimism, especially by the hotel sector, which has been greatly affected during all this time.
The opening of the country has also been enthusiastically received by schools and all those linked to the world of education, who throughout this time have suffered the consequences of losing students and teachers along the way. This openness also joins the benefits of having a free visa for students and work and holidays visas.
